It is tradition for WTCC to hold some tests before european part of season. It was the first some kind of open test for Russian Bears. Besides, this test was the first official for their Lada 1106. Russian Bears Motorsport took only part in the morning session. Although Viktor Shapovalov completed only 15 laps before being stopped by an engine failure (there is Opel engine inside Lada). He clocked a best lap of 1:40.319. Testing continues next day at the German track.
