New LADA PRIORA will have debut at World Touring Car Championship at 5^th of July. LADA Sport – Russian Bears team has built a new car by the Portugal round of World Championship replacing today team’s weapon LADA 110 2.0.

Development of new version of engine was started at the end of last year. It will appear at Russian cars a little bit earlier, at Valencia round at the end of May. The team’s chief Victor Shapovalov said the team is working on scheduled car’s adjustments and on tests of new components and parts. Particularly suspension will undergo a great changes, some of them will be made by Marrakech Grand Prix (2-3 May). The new more powerful engine will be mounted at LADA WTCC by the end of May. It will increase car’s maximum speed and reduce the gap between LADA and the leaders.

As of whole new LADA PRIORA car, it’s prototype is at the aerodynamics tests at AVTOVAZ Reseach&Design Center in Togliatti now. The first road tests will be at the end of the May.

The chief of AVTOVAZ Sport Cars department Vladislav Nezvankin said: “The first tests of LADA PRIORA WTCC prototype at the wind tunnel shows good balance, it’s very important for the racing car. It has a very low drag coefficient and we beat the rivals. You know, LADA 110 series have an revolutionary low drag coefficient from the design stages and LADA PRIORA is based on this platform. LADA was always one of the aerodynamics leaders in its class.”
