LADA SPORT get ready for Brno

Czech Brno will hold sixth WTCC 2009 event at 20-21 June. This round will be some kind of border for the LADA SPORT team because the whole new LADA PRIORA will hit the track at the next WTCC round at Portugal.


Though LADA Sport team gained some competitive advantages of the new car just before it start, engine’s upgrades made it more powerful and increased speed at straits. Autodrom Brno is the second track length (5,4 km) among all WTCC 2009 rounds. The most lengthy track is Macao GP (6,1
êì), traditionally it hold the final WTCC round.


Czech raceway is a modern fast track with level difference. It have 15 m width, configuration includes six left turns and eight right turns. Autodrom laying at a lowland so spectators can see the most part of the track.


There will be two a half an hour test sessions at Saturday (20 June) morning, then will be qualification. The first race will be on Sunday 21 June at 14:45 (Moscow time) and the second will start at 16:45. Eurosport TV-channel traditionally will be broadcast both races live.

 

Jaap van Lagen hopes to have luckier racing weekend than at Valencia: ''Brno Autodrom is fantastic, it have very special atmosphere! Our cars have some upgrades before Valencia round but event’s circumstances didn’t let us to get all advantages of the new engine. Hope we’ll manage to conduct stable and “clear” race to demonstrate effect of improvements''.


Kirill Ladygin: ''I’m looking forward for this race. I scored the best team’s result at Morocco, 12th place and I’m trying to increase our finishing positions. There will be a tough race at Brno but we’ll be trying''.


Victor Shapovalov: ''We are very glad with our speed, it’s the result of last engine modernization. We
realize we have to work at reliability. Coming event at such interesting track will be the best opportunity to value our progress before new car’s debut at Portugal. It’s potential is clear for us but we have to work hard for successful results''.
